Emma Mitchell

Gender & Technology Consultant – InspireHER STEM Trust – AGCK

Dedicated to career growth in Business and Technology transformation, gender digital and social inclusion, Decision support systems, and empowering girls and women to use Technology to solve problems and pursue a career in Information Technology.

My passion for closing the digital divide has taken me from USA, Nicaragua, and Kenya to train facilitators and educators in gender-sensitive program implementation.

I founded an award winning International Science, Technology, Engineering & Math (STEM) workforce skills and leadership development mentoring program for underserved women and rural girls to equally lead for change. At InspireHER STEM, we educate, mentor and EmpowerHER. The knowledge from my love for travel, international exposure, and ambition to manage multiple complex projects led me to leadership positions with minimal diversity in the Technology Industry. I have learned how to handle diverse teams, varying personalities and collaborate globally for social innovation.

In 2007 I obtained my Bachelor’s Degree in Business and Healthcare Administration and became a PMI certified Project Manager. In 2011, I graduated with a Masters in Information Systems. I have balanced demanding priorities to meet business objectives and set product goals successfully.

Through the guidance of mentors, I held various positions using six sigma principles. Promoted from manufacturing associate to warranty coordinator, service coordinator, to full-cycle project manager working with sales, design teams, procurement, production, field technicians, and end users in various industries as a sole point of contact.

As a Systems Analyst, I have assessed “as is” system, identified process gaps, and assisted in developing “future state” roadmaps, key Indicators for decision making and resource management solutions. I have gained diverse expertise in changing industry needs and have specialized my skills to help meet these demands. Am passionate about healthcare, rural digital skills development, and technology innovations that prepare girls to enter the world of technology.
