An award-winning entrepreneur and consultant, Sylvia is Founder/CEO of GlobalX Investments Ltd/GlobalX Innovation Labs. GlobalX feeds into the innovation pipeline by closing the skills, funding and digital transformation gaps with a focus in emerging technologies.

She has exposure working in extremely competitive markets in Sub Saharan Africa and the UK in the Oil & Energy, Healthcare, NGOs, Development and ICT & Telecoms sectors.

Global Entrepreneurship Summit 2015: Earned a special mention for her technology entrepreneurship work in the closing speech by Maria Contreras-Sweet, former US Government’s Lead Minister on Entrepreneurship and member of President Obama’s cabinet.

TechWomen Fellow 2014: A Silicon Valley STEM program run by the US Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs; launched by Hillary Clinton, former US Secretary of State. TechWomen empowers, connects and supports the next generation of women leaders in STEM from Africa, Central & South Asia, and the Middle East.

She has served as Country Co-Founder/Chapter Lead (Kenya) and Operations Board for Women in Tech Africa (WiTA), the largest female technology focused group in Africa and 2018 winner of the UN’s EQUALS in Tech Award, Leadership Category.

Sylvia is a BMW Foundation Herbert Quandt Responsible Leader; a member of Global Leadership Academy, Global Diplomacy Lab and The Gender Alliance; 2015-2017 Next Einstein Forum Ambassador and; serves on the Global Advisory Board for the India STEM Alliance.

She supports innovation with social impact & has been judge in global innovation competitions e.g ASME ISHOW and Ericsson Innovation Coach nominee to support intrapreneurship in Sub Saharan Africa.

Keen to advance racial & gender equity and Diversity, Equity & Inclusion in general.
