STEM Education Advocate | Mentor
Uchenna Onwuamaegbu-Ugwu, the founder of Edufun Technik, a Social Enterprise that focuses on the implementation of Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) education for children and youth from 3-18 years old in underprivileged and underserved communities in Eastern Nigeria. We ensure that 60% of our students and clients are girls. We also focus on developing their potentials, skills and talents by providing our students with quality hands-on-training on coding, design thinking, engineering and robotics, and guiding them to make informed STEM career-decisions that will set them moving into a big future of STEM.
At Edufun Technik, we address the challenges of inaccessibility and unavailability of Science Technology Engineering & Mathematics (STEM) education through a design-driven customized STEM curriculum. Our advocacy model is by increasing the number of girls between ages 3-18 years to have full access to STEM education in order to develop requisite skills ready for the Big Future.
We have covered over 500 classes of STEM curriculum since 2014, trained 1,200 pupils and 2,100 Students in after-school STEM workshops and in-class activities as well as consulting for schools on designing curriculum that will enhance STEM/Robotics Education.
I strongly believe that early introduction of STEM education in rural community would inspire them to be great thinkers, problem
solvers and make good career decision that will impact their community.
Holds a degree in psychology at Nnamdi Azikiwe University Nigeria.
